About

Who writes this, how we check it, and what we actually sell.

The short version. We are an English-language information source for Xingyi, written from Xingyi, with two small practical services attached. It is a very small operation — small enough that the person who writes these pages is the person who turns up.

Why this site exists

Xingyi became reachable almost overnight: a high-speed line opened in November 2025 and put it two hours from Guiyang. What did not arrive with it was any usable English-language information. Search for this place in English and you get a handful of aerial photographs, some promotional copy, and almost nothing that answers a practical question.

So the ambition is twofold. First, to build the most complete English-language knowledge base on Xingyi and Qianxinan — geography, history, geology, culture, sources, and the practical mechanics of being here. Second, to be the local English support desk for anyone who comes: not only travellers, but business visitors, researchers, students, photographers and field-study groups who need things arranged on the ground.

So the useful thing to build was not another gallery of karst peaks. It was the answers: whether you need a ticket, which road is free, whether you can hire a bike with a child seat, which hotels can register a foreign passport, and which of the sights is worth your limited time. That is what most of this site is.

How we check things

Our one real asset is being believed, so we are strict about it in ways that are occasionally inconvenient:

What we sell

Two ready-to-book services, deliberately narrow — and beyond them, custom arrangements on request. We do not run packaged guided tours.

A Wanfenglin transfer with the bike hire arranged — US$50. We collect you from your hotel, drive you out to the valley, sort the electric buggy or bicycles with the rental shop in Chinese, and then leave you to it. Nobody follows you around. Message us when you are ready and we come and fetch you.

An airport or railway-station transfer — US$20. Met off your flight or train, driven to your hotel, and we stay until you are checked in.

Beyond those two: local transport, hotel help including foreign-passport registration, route planning, an interpreter or local assistant, and coordination for business, study, research, filming or field visits — tell us what you need and we quote it honestly or say no. Everything else on this site is free, including asking us questions by email. We answer them whether or not you ever book anything, because that is the actual point of the site. What we can arrange · how paying works.

How booking works

Write to hello@visitxingyi.com with your dates. We check the date is genuinely free before you pay anything — in high season the bikes with child seats do get taken, and we would much rather turn a date down than take your money and let you down. Once it is agreed we send an itemised invoice.

Who we are, formally

Visit Xingyi is the trading name of Charming Wealth International Holdings Limited, a company registered in Hong Kong, operating in Xingyi, Qianxinan Prefecture, Guizhou. We are not a licensed Chinese travel agency and we do not sell packaged tours; what we sell is transport and practical assistance, which is a different thing and we are careful about the difference.

We are also listed on GetYourGuide. If you would rather book through a platform, that is a perfectly reasonable thing to want and we will not try to talk you out of it.
