Save us before you come — your English lifeline in Xingyi. Xingyi runs on WeChat and Alipay, which most foreign visitors don't have set up — so we meet you on
the app you already use, WhatsApp. Once you have our number, you have a live English-speaking contact on call for whatever comes up on the ground: a ticket gate that won't sell to you, a late-night arrival, a menu, a hospital. As far as we know,
a live English-speaking contact in Xingyi is close to unique; there isn't much of an English anything here.

Message any time — the channel is always open; a real person usually replies within a few hours (we're one small team on China time, not a 24/7 call centre). Prefer email? hello@visitxingyi.com.
What we actually are
We are a local English support desk for foreign visitors — not a mass tour operator, and not a packaged coach trip; in fact most visitors don't need a guide at all. Every visitor is different, so most of what we do is arranged around you: we learn what you're trying to do, then plan it and make it happen, in English, handling the Chinese-only side you can't. Two pieces are priced and ready to book below; everything else we quote case by case.
The things that actually go wrong here, and that we take off your hands:
- Passport, not the chipped Chinese ID card. Scenic-area gates and apps are built around the local ID; a foreign passport means the manual window and the Chinese-only mini-programmes. We book the tickets and the timed-entry slots for you.
- Arriving after dark. There's roughly one flight a day and it lands in the evening; the taxi rank and hotel desk don't speak English. We meet you and stay until you're checked in.
- The valley logistics. The free lanes, the electric buggy, the bike with a real child seat — sorted in Chinese, before the good kit is taken.
- Everything in Chinese. Reservations, a phone call to a venue, a translation on the spot — message us and it's handled.

Wanfenglin transfer & bike hire
The valley the way locals do it, without the two things that stop you: getting there, and talking to the rental shop. We collect you from your hotel, drive you out, get you onto an electric buggy or a bike, settle it all in Chinese — and then leave you alone. Nobody follows you around. Ride the farm lanes as long as you like, message us when you've had enough, and we come and fetch you.
- Return transfer, your hotel to the valley and back
- Electric buggy, bicycle or e-bike hire — arranged and paid for
- Child seat and child-size helmet if you need them
- We deal with the rental shop in Chinese
- No ticket needed for the valley lanes — nothing further to pay out there
US$50 for your party, hire included

Xingyi transfer & check-in
The hardest hour of the trip is the first one. We meet you at Xingyi Wanfenglin Airport or Xingyi South railway station with your name on a sign and take you to your hotel — and we stay until you're actually checked in, because that's the step that goes wrong. Arriving after dark in a small city where nobody at the taxi rank speaks English is the one moment where having someone there earns its keep.
- Met on arrival by an English-speaking local, name on a sign
- Driven to your hotel — airport and station are 700 m apart, either is the same to us
- We wait if your flight or train runs late
- We stay until check-in is done, foreign-passport registration included
- Works in reverse on the day you leave
US$20 per transfer

Staying longer than a trip? We also help visitors settle in for a month or a season.
If you'd like a whole trip built around you rather than a set piece, that's what our bespoke planning is for.
Anything else — arranged around you
This is the heart of what we do. Tell us who's coming, your dates and what you want out of Xingyi, and we build it and set it up for you — tickets and reservations booked on your passport at cost, no mark-up; the arrangement is what you pay us for. We handle:
- A custom plan for your trip — day by day, around your pace and interests (travelling with a toddler? see visiting with a baby or toddler)
- Tickets & timed-entry reservations on a foreign passport — Wanfenglin, Maling River Canyon and more; see how ticketing works for foreigners
- Local transport beyond the standard transfers; hotel help, including one that can register a foreign passport
- An interpreter or local assistant for a day — meetings, paperwork, phone calls, getting things done
- Coordination for business, study, research, photography or field visits
Tell us what you're trying to do → or email hello@visitxingyi.com with your dates, group size and plans — we quote it honestly, or say plainly that we can't.
Wondering who actually turns up? The person, and what we hold ourselves to. Still working out how long to stay? How long you actually need in Xingyi — two nights is our honest answer.
How booking works. Message us on WhatsApp or email
hello@visitxingyi.com with your dates and a human replies, usually the same day. We check the date is genuinely free before you pay anything — in high season the bikes with child seats do get taken. Once agreed we send an itemised invoice you can pay by card, or by WeChat Pay or Alipay if you have one. We don't take cash. See
how paying works. Weather problem, delayed train, poorly child — we move the day or refund you.
What we don't promise. We don't sell packaged tours, and we won't pretend a service exists before it does. We don't claim access we haven't verified. We don't handle guests' cash informally. And nothing is confirmed until we've checked the date is genuinely workable — we'd rather turn work down than take it and deliver it badly.
