How do I get from Guiyang to Xingyi?

The Guiyang–Xingyi run got dramatically easier in late 2025. The Panxing high-speed railway opened on November 28, 2025, and it changed the math completely: Xingyi South station — which sits right by Wanfenglin Airport — is now on the national high-speed network, and the Guiyang to Xingyi ride is about two hours. Before this line, getting to Xingyi from the provincial capital was a long road journey. Now it's a straightforward rail trip, and the line connects through Panzhou to the Shanghai–Kunming corridor, which means Xingyi is suddenly reachable from a much bigger slice of China by train. Practical tips: aim for Xingyi South (Xingyinan), the new high-speed station near the airport — not the older conventional station. It's a short hop from downtown Xingyi and the Wanfenglin scenic area, so you can arrive and be looking at the karst the same afternoon. Once you arrive, the usual Xingyi caveat applies: this is a zero-English town. The train gets you here; the last mile — taxi, hotel check-in, finding the right entrance to the scenic road — is where travelers without Chinese get stuck. That's exactly why an English-speaking local team exists here. The full Guiyang–Xingyi transport breakdown, in English, with station and transfer details, is on visitxingyi.com.
