Chinese Athletics Association A-class half marathon around Tuanbo Lake in Tianjin's Jinghai District, 10,000 runners.
One event only: the half marathon, 21.0975km, capped at 10,000 runners. It is certified by the Chinese Athletics Association as an A-class road race, hosted by the Jinghai District People's Government and operated by a Beijing-based sports company. The course starts and finishes at Tuanbo Health City Marathon Square and runs a loop through the surrounding road network, including sections along Tuanbo Avenue, Poyang Lake Road and the south levee road of the Duliujian River. The organisers describe Tuanbo Lake itself as a bird reserve with reed beds and some sixty species of migratory birds, and pitch the route as a contrast between the health-city development and the lake environment.
Registration ran from 10:00 on 26 June 2026 to 12:00 on 6 July 2026, first come first served until the 10,000 places were filled. The entry fee was RMB 150. Places were tied to the named entrant and could not be transferred; the organisers list lifetime bans among the penalties for buying, selling or running on someone else's number.
Entries were taken through the official WeChat public account (团泊湖马拉松官方号) and five named partner platforms: 数字心动, 马拉马拉, 最酷 (Zuicool), 润赛美佳 and 跑跑网. Group entries were not accepted. The organisers state that you must register using your own account, identified by mobile number or email address, and that the account must not be closed during the race period. Refunds could be requested through the original platform's order page before 12:00 on 6 July 2026, free of charge and paid back in full within seven working days of the refund window closing; after that point no refunds were given.
Several things a foreign entrant would need to know are not addressed anywhere in the organisers' published material. There is no statement on whether a foreign passport is accepted as the identity document, whether a Chinese mobile number or a WeChat account is required in practice, or whether any part of the registration flow is available in English. Nor is it stated whether results from races held outside China count towards the entry standard. Entrants had to upload proof of two race results of 10km or longer, achieved within the 24 months before the entry deadline, defined as 6 July 2024 to 6 July 2026 inclusive. Each finisher certificate had to show the date of the race, the runner's real name, the distance (or an event name that makes the distance clear) and the finish time. Results from virtual or online races were not accepted.
Runners had to be 18 by 1 January 2026, meaning born before 1 January 2008. Anyone aged 65 or over on that date, born before 1 January 1962, had to submit a participation undertaking co-signed by a family member. The organisers publish a list of medical conditions that bar entry, including heart and cardiovascular conditions, high blood pressure, diabetes with unstable blood sugar, pregnancy, and having had a cold or abnormal temperature within two weeks of race day. Disabled runners may enter under Chinese Athletics Association rules, but there is no racing wheelchair category and racing wheelchairs are not permitted on the course; visually impaired runners must have a guide runner who is themselves a registered entrant, and must upload disability documentation at entry.
Kit collection is at the Marathon Square on 25 September, 9:00 to 17:00, and 26 September, 9:00 to 21:00. There is no collection on race day and no pre-race postal delivery. Runners must collect in person, carrying the original identity document used at registration, and sign the participation undertaking on site; collection by a third party is not allowed. The organisers verify every runner by face recognition or document check and will refuse to hand over kit where the person and the document do not match. Registration information is checked for accuracy, and false health declarations or false entry details void the entry.
The start is a single gun start, with corrals assigned on each runner's best marathon or half marathon time from A- or B-certified races on the China Marathon information platform between 1 January 2024 and 26 June 2026. Runners may drop back a corral but not move forward. No one may cross the start line more than 15 minutes after the gun. Cut-offs run from 55 minutes at 5km (8:25) through 1:30 at 10km (9:00), 2:10 at 15km (9:40) and 2:50 at 20km (10:20), to 3:00 at the finish (10:30); roads reopen behind those times and runners who miss a cut-off must leave the course. Water or drinks stations sit at 5km, 10km, 15km and 20km, with water-use stations at 7.5km, 12.5km and 17.5km and energy stations at 12.5km and 17.5km. Timing is by disposable chip, with mats at the start, every 5km, the turnarounds and the finish; missing any mat voids the result. No spectator arrangements, transport information or public access details have been published.
